There could be the following reasons why the barriers at the toll stations do not open:
- Incorrect installation of the device in the vehicle
- Defect device
- Empty battery
- Defective toll station
- Blocked device
Incorrect installation of the device in the vehicle
You will find detailed information on the correct installation of the device in our OBU manual, which is included in every order.
Defective device
Defects are extremely rare, and if your device is not working, we kindly ask you to first consider the other points listed in this article!
Empty battery
Devices such as TIS-PL and VIA-T have an expiration date, which can be found on the back of the box.
Please never open the device or attempt to replace the battery—the device will lose all functionality once the battery is removed and the power supply is interrupted!
Defective toll station
A defect at the toll station can be recognized by the fact that the barriers are continuously open or that the barriers no longer open at all.
Experience has shown that technical defects at toll stations occur occasionally, especially in Italy.
Please note that we have no influence on this.
In this case, please do not change lanes or reverse out of the lane, but contact the staff to inform them that you have the appropriate device for automatic toll collection.
Blocked device
We only block a device in exceptional cases and never without informing you in advance by email.
In general, a device is only blocked if:
- we have repeatedly requested payment from the customer and have not heard back from them
- you have requested a block due to loss/theft/damage.
